Nominate a Group

100+ Women Who Care Sault Ste Marie brings together women who care deeply about our community.

Our mission and our hope is to provide for those residents in greatest need.

We meet four times per year, aiming to raise $10,000 at each meeting, with collective donations donated to one organization per meeting.

The organization is chosen by the membership from among eligible groups.

We focus on small, local, grassroots organizations which operate on a shoestring budget, are volunteer-driven with limited resources, for whom a collective donation of $10,000 would be very significant.

To be eligible for funds from 100+ Women Who Care SSM, the following criteria apply:

  1. Your group must be a registered charity or not-for-profit with a registration number from the federal government;
  2. Your group must have been registered for at least 2 years;
  3. Your group is local, and volunteer-based with limited number of staff;
  4. All dollars must stay in Sault Ste. Marie;
  5. You must describe how dollars will be used;
  6. Funds cannot be used for infrastructure or salaries.

Please note that if you are not eligible for funding, it is not a reflection on the merits of your group or your work.

There are many fantastic organizations who nonetheless do not fit our specific criteria.
